Wildlife Education with Bernadette Haufman

Her name is Bernadette Haufman and this is her passionate hobby!

Bernadette believes that children learn best when they can touch, hold and investigate things. Children, who have experienced the joy of kind and gentle interaction with animals, are more likely to become adults who care about protecting wildlife. My animals are common exotics but the kind that many don’t possess. Children are captivated by them and are excited to touch these animals, and learn about the wild animal specimens she presents.

This program is free to those of all abilities and is recommended for children of school level Pre- K and up. Due to the recent uptick with the Covid Virus, seating is limited to the first twenty and we must request that only one adult accompany a family or child.

This program is from 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. on Saturday February 12, 2022 at the Fort Edward Free Library. Registration is required by contacting the library at 518-747-6743 or e-mail ftedirector@sals.edu

Stepping Back to Stage 11 Guidelines

With Covid-19 Positive numbers going up in Ft. Edward,  it was decided by the Library Board of Trustees and Director to revert back to our re-opening plans of Stage 11 Curbside library services beginning Tuesday January 19, 2021 with open hours not changing.   Patrons can request materials by phone, e-mail, and ILL.  Patrons are asked to contact the library to set up a convenient pick-up time during library hours.   If a patron arrives early or later than the arranged pick-up time, there may be a few minutes wait time due to staff assisting other curbside pickups.    Library staff will continue offering the service of copying and faxing for patrons.  To ease any patrons concerns regarding privacy with copies and a fax, the copier/fax machine will be located in view for patrons to observe staff handling this information.

  • Library Phone Number is: 518-747-6743 (please speak slowly and clearly when leaving your name, phone number, and message.)
