Stepping Back to Stage 11 Guidelines

With Covid-19 Positive numbers going up in Ft. Edward,  it was decided by the Library Board of Trustees and Director to revert back to our re-opening plans of Stage 11 Curbside library services beginning Tuesday January 19, 2021 with open hours not changing.   Patrons can request materials by phone, e-mail, and ILL.  Patrons are asked to contact the library to set up a convenient pick-up time during library hours.   If a patron arrives early or later than the arranged pick-up time, there may be a few minutes wait time due to staff assisting other curbside pickups.    Library staff will continue offering the service of copying and faxing for patrons.  To ease any patrons concerns regarding privacy with copies and a fax, the copier/fax machine will be located in view for patrons to observe staff handling this information.

  • Library Phone Number is: 518-747-6743 (please speak slowly and clearly when leaving your name, phone number, and message.)
  • Library e-mail is: fte-director@sals.edu
  • Website address is: fortedwardlibrary.sals.edu

Coming very soon is our Gallery of Shelved Books and DVD Photos that will be on the library website.   This will allow patrons the availability to browse the shelves virtually while we are in Stage 11.  Please contact the library with any questions or concerns.  All materials are quarantined for up to 96 hours after they have been returned and will continue to appear as “out” on your library card until checked in.  Fines are not accrued during this time.

No ILL Delivery

Due to the impending weather forecast for Thursday December 16, Ft. Edward and other libraries were notified that there will not be any ILL Delivery Service through SALS on this date. Fort Edward will not know of the uncertainty of being open or closed until Thursday morning. If the library director feels that the inclement weather would be hazardous to patrons and staff, the library will close for either all or part of its daily hours and recommends contacting the library at 518-747-6743 to confirm being open.

Due to the impending weather forecast for Thursday December 17, 2020, SALS notified libraries that there will not be any ILL delivery service on this day. If the Ft. Edward library director feels opening would be hazardous to patrons and staff, Ft. Edward will be closed and reopen on Friday December 17th at 10:00 am. If weather conditions improve during the day, the library may then open for a few hours. However, it is always best to call the library at 518-747-6743 to verify that we will be open.

Thank you!
