SUMMARY:April 1\, 2025 Open Fishing Season  Free Lending Fishing Equipment
DESCRIPTION:Looking to fish?  The Fort Edward Free Library offers fishing poles along with tackle boxes (hooks\, sinkers\, bobbers\, etc.) for your fishing pleasure for FREE.  Those over the age of Sixteen must obtain a NYS Fishing License either from your local Town Office or online at:  NYS :https://dec.ny.gov/regulatory/permits-licenses/sporting-and-use/sporting/fishing-license. \nParents or a guardian must complete the library application to borrow fishing equipment.  The borrower of the fishing equipment must have a current SALS Member Library Card owing no fees to  our library or any other.  If you do not have a library card from this library or any others within the Southern Adirondack Library System\, you may register for your library card here.  To obtain a library card\, you must bring a current photo ID of your drivers license or a non-driver photo ID.  \nYou may borrow equipment for up 2 weeks which then must be returned in person at this library.  No equipment can be returned at another library or in the return drop box.  As with any library materials\, if equipment is broken or lost\, you will be responsible for the replacement cost. \nHave fun fishing with your family and friends among our local ponds\, streams\, canals\, rivers\, and lakes.

SUMMARY:Wednesday April 16\, 2025 Designated times of Library Activities in Grades Pre-K - Three\, Fourth\, Fifth and Sixth\, Seventh and Up (read below for more information)
DESCRIPTION:From 10:00 am – 11:30 am there will be designated activities in grades Pre-K – 3.  We will begin in making our Cheerio Lambs.  Our next activity will be the Experiment of the EGG into a bottle and to learn how this happens.  Our third activity will be our group timed PUT TOGETHER  FLOOR PUZZLE.   At the end of all activities\, each participant will receive a coupon for a FREE Stewarts Ice Cream Cone.  \n  \nFrom 12:30 pm – 2:00 pm there will once again be designated activities for grades 4 – 6.  This group may also make Cheerio Lambs OR they can group together in making a structure for the EGG Crash TEST (the materials we supply is what you will use to construct your protective casing).  You will be given a maximum of twenty-five minutes to make this.  Next is The EGG into a bottle experiment demonstrated and learn how this happens. The third activity will be a Timed Group PUT TOGETHER FLOOR PUZZLE.   At the end of all activities\, each participant will receive a coupon for a FREE Stewarts Ice Cream Cone. \n  \nFrom 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm will be our last activity for the day with those in grades Seven and above. The first group challenge be to unscramble letters to make a word pertaining to the library within ten minutes.  Example: (rborow).  Our next challenge will be in constructing a protective casing for the EGG CRASH TEST (you can only use the materials we supply in making your structure).  You will be given a maximum of twenty minutes in the making of this. Following the crash test it will be a TIMED GROUP PUT TOGETHER FLOOR PUZZLE.  Each participant will receive a coupon for a FREE Stewarts Ice Cram cone. \nOne winner from each of the three grade levels above will have the chance to walk on top of a carton of eggs to see if they break. \n  \n  \n  \nPictures shown are only an example of the activities described. \n                   \n \n \nVERY IMPORTANT!! THESE ACTIVITIES ARE ON A FIRST COME BASIS WITH A MAXIMUM NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS NOT TO EXCEED 20! \n  \n
