Story Wall Interviews Today August 13 and Thursday August 15th @ 3:00 pm

August 13, 2019 @ 3:00 pm – August 15, 2019 @ 4:15 pm
Fort Edward Free Library
East Street Fort Edward NY 12828

The FE library is compiling stories for our Storywall and we need your help. This project is made possible through a grant from Southern Adirondack Library System. Our latest topic involves stories about growing up in Fort Edward. We would like to interview those who grew up in the Fort throughout the generations; a “from then til now“ history. We have a videographer who will be putting these interviews into a story format. If you have any memorabilia, correspondence, photos, … you can share these as well. We would like to talk to a few individuals from each decade going back 90 years.
These dates are available at the library for these interviews: Thursday 8/8 @ 3:00 pm, Monday 8/12 @3:00 pm, Tuesday 8/13 @ 3:00 pm, and Thursday 8/15 @ 3:00 pm.
This project will culminate with a video shown on an outside wall at dusk located in our community and then on the wall of the Canal Street Marketplace Barn. Themes range from train history of Ft. Edward, Schools, Fire Department, Champlain Canal, Pottery, Churches, Museums, and others. Our community partners in this grant are the Old Fort House Museum, Rogers Island Visitors Center, and the Canal Street Marketplace. Please contact the library if you would like to help us in our Storywall Project. Leave your name and phone number at the library 518/747-6743. Visit South Australia’s story wall to see an example of this project completed. Ours will not be as elaborate, but the idea will be the same.
