We are pleased to inform the community of a recent $500 donation the Fort Edward Free Library received from this year’s Stewart’s Holiday Match grant application.  This funding will help in taking on science in a big way with this years collaborative summer reading theme  Fizz, Boom, Read!  While we can’t cover every science topic, the library will offer a variety of engaging programs for families of children ages four – twelve residing in the Town and Village of Fort Edward.  Children will learn some practical …

The Monday Night Book club hosted a presentation of the book titled “Solomon  Northup Twelve Years A Slave”  by  our Town Historian, Paul. R. McCarty on Monday evening February 24th @ 7 p.m. at the Fort Edward Free Library.  Mr. McCarty talked of Solomon Northup being born a free African American who was kidnapped and sold into slavery.  Northup lived in Washington County for part of his life and was married on Christmas Day, 1829, in Fort Edward.  Refreshments were …
